Ohaupo School New Classroom Block

Ohaupo School New Classroom Block

Ohaupo School planned to build a new set of classrooms to accommodate their roll growth. Micon engineering put together a design for air conditioning to the new block. We were successful in winning the tender to supply and install the complete system as designed.

Design
The design for this job consisted of a Mitsubishi Electric City Multi VRF system running six ceiling cassettes and one hi wall unit. Each classroom is serviced by its own unit which is controlled by a wall mounted controller. All seven wall controllers can be controlled by the central controller for scheduled run times and temperature settings.

Outcome
We completed this system ready for the 2015 winter. The teachers and the children think it is great!

The ability to simultaneously heat or cool different classrooms helps keep each class at the optimum learning temperature, even as the sun moves around the building. The extra efficiency gained from the built in heat recovery means the school can run the system to its full benefit without worrying about large energy bills.

The new classroom block is a complete success and an amazing learning environment.
